my journey to the art sanctuary

For as long as I can remember, I’ve carried the quiet knowing that my path would one day merge with a soul-led space—a place where art, spirit, community and healing could grow side by side. I didn’t know its name or its form, only that I was preparing for it long before it appeared.

That preparation wasn’t a straight line. It unfolded over years of intentional research, deep vulnerability, and countless attempts to collaborate in ways that felt aligned—attempts that, more often than not, dissolved before they became real.

At the time, I thought those near-misses were setbacks. Now I can see they were initiations.

Each one revealed more clearly what I was meant to build, what I was willing to stand for, and what my soul would no longer compromise.

Then came the chapter that changed everything. I spent three years living remotely in Northeast Arnhem Land on Yolŋu Country, where creation, ceremony and connection to land are woven into daily life. Out there—held by the vastness, the culture, the silence—my creative power shifted into a different dimension. My embodiment softened and strengthened at the same time. I learned to listen in a deeper way. And I stepped into a version of myself I hadn’t yet imagined.

When I eventually returned to Perth, I carried that transformation like a compass. I knew I was ready—finally—for the space my vision had been circling for years. And almost immediately, I found the Art Sanctuary.

It felt less like discovery and more like destiny.

The Art Sanctuary is rooted in a meaningful lineage: a non-profit organisation shaped by its sister initiatives, all of them committed to healing, creativity, community care and spiritual connection. This is a place built by many hearts—artists, facilitators, healers, elders—each contributing to a shared mission of nurturing authentic expression and deepening our relationship with nature and one another.

Walking into this space, I felt something click into place. The Art Sanctuary’s vision mirrored my own long-held goals:

to cultivate a soul-led creative environment,

to weave art with ritual,

to steward transformative experiences,

and to help reimagine what communal, heart-centred creativity can look like.

All the years of searching, studying, breaking open, and trying—and trying again—suddenly made sense. Every collaboration that didn’t eventuate simply cleared the path for the one that was meant for me.

My work as Experience Lead with the Art Sanctuary is not just a role; it is a continuation of a story that began long before I recognised its shape. And as I step into this new chapter, contributing to its growth, offerings, and unfolding vision, I do so with the deepest sense of alignment.

Here, my path, purpose, and long-term vision finally meet their home… and I invite you in.
